ABOUT US
Fragmented was born from the need to create something unique – from a love of working with our hands, and out of respect for the resources we already have.
We make one-of-a-kind pieces using only secondhand wool clothing. We cut it, match colors, and build geometric compositions – so every item becomes a single, unique creation.
Fragmented is the opposite of fast fashion. Every piece is built with care – with attention to detail, color pairings, and the direction of the knit. The creative process is our form of meditation – cutting and arranging wool scraps is a mindful act for us. We believe in transformation – giving new value to things that seemed done. We recover still-good fragments from used, damaged clothes and turn them into raw material. Our designs are built from bold color blocks and textured combinations.
Fragmented was founded in 2024 in Łódź, Poland. But the story goes way back to the 90s.
It’s a story of a mother, a daughter, family values, and a whole lot of creativity – pushing through limitations.
And we’re still telling it.
We design, develop, and sew everything in Poland.

THE STORY
My name is Paulina Panas, and I’m the founder of Fragmented.
The idea for the brand grew from my own childhood and from my mom’s experiences.
Fragmented started in 2024, but its roots go back to the early years of post-communist Poland. It’s not just a story about clothes – it’s about creativity and family.
There was always a lot of craft and artistic energy in my family. One of my grandfathers was a carpenter who carved religious sculptures. The other was a master weaver. In our home, practical skills and creating with your hands were always valued. My parents loved art and fashion. They saw beauty in everyday things.
My dad was musically talented, could sew, and even mastered English embroidery – he used it to decorate our bed linens. My mom loved drawing. In the early 90s, back when shops in Poland were often empty and it was hard to find good clothes, she would get patterns from foreign magazines and sew clothes for me together with my dad.
At that time, Poland was just opening up to Western goods – and there was a big contrast between what was available here and abroad. Thanks to their skills, I stood out as a little girl walking down the street in a wool coat and a tweed blazer.
When secondhand stores started appearing in Poland, and it was still hard to find good-quality, original clothing, my mom began buying old wool sweaters. Some were stained, pilled, or had holes. She cut them up, kept the good parts, and sewed them together into colorful patchwork designs on our home machine.
She made them for our whole family for years – spontaneously, without formal training, but with great intuition. Over time, as the market changed and more clothes became available, the need to make things ourselves faded. My mom’s patchwork sweaters were forgotten for many years.
Fashion has always been close to me, so working in the industry was a natural path.
Over the years I’ve worked for both big and small clothing brands in Poland and abroad.
All of it was part of the journey that led me to build my own brand – one that honors my mom’s creativity and our family’s story.

OUR MISSION
We want to show that the fashion industry doesn’t have to compromise. We believe it’s possible to create by using what’s already out there. We want to offer clothes that are both high-quality and truly unique – made with purpose and built on values.
